The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism aims to save lives by ensuring the health and social care workforce have the right skills and knowledge to provide safe, compassionate and informed care to those with a learning disability such as autism.
The first part is an e- learning module (Tier 1), and the second part is either an online interactive session or a face-to-face session (Tier 2).
Through the Oliver McGowan Autism and Learning Disability Course, you will deepen your understanding of the different types of learning disabilities, their causes, effects and diagnosis. You will also explore the needs of the individual and how to provide quality support through adopting a person-centred care approach.
Also explored in the course is the legal framework surrounding the provision of care for individuals with learning disabilities, including safeguarding policies and procedures. If you have decided to pursue a career in social care, this course will provide you with valuable practical skills to work successfully in a wide range of professional settings.

All of our courses are nationally recognised and accredited by the Continuing Professional Development (CPD). Once you have completed your assessments, you will be awarded a free accredited certificate in PDF format which is immediately available. Hard copies of the certificate are available at an additional fee of £5. All evidence of learning and certification will remain on our system for future reference.
